When my dad first talked to me about this house eventually being mine (ours ~ this all includes Jim), to be honest, I wasn't interested. Two houses are a lot of work and I wasn't sure I wanted that responsibility. My folks were private people and wouldn't dream of having big groups up here to "hang out" for a weekend. You see, they didn't really like people in their space (obviously we are very different!) and where I love color on my walls, my Mom preferred white. After my Mom passed away and Dad moved back to Menomonee Falls, he told me to do whatever Jim and I wanted. Jim and I started inviting big groups up to enjoy the house and the lake (we never have told him how many actually come up! He may have a heart attack if we do!). Some changes were made right away, but within the last year, 2 wonderful friends of mine, Joel Gollhardt and Vi Hammelman helped bring my dream of color on the walls to life. I cannot tell you how much peace I find in this house now...now that it reflects who I am inside. The house felt cold before, but as Jim and I started to use it in ways that reflected who we were on the inside, the outside ~ the house ~ began to reflect that. I look around now and am so grateful we chose to open up to the possibilities!
Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world so invite elements into your outer world that bring you peace and joy. Happy Easter everyone!
